Unfortunately, because of Sony\u2019s constant \u201clock everything down\u201d mindset, you CANNOT just freely install custom firmware on EVERY<\/strong> PlayStation like it\u2019s nothing. I am VERY sorry to announce this.<\/span><\/p>\n

But with this out of the way, LETS GET HACKING!<\/span><\/p>\n

PlayStation 1:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This console is so old it barely even knows what protection is.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just <\/span>Burn your (legally or pirated) dumped games onto a CD and<\/span> use a modchip or do the swap trick (like a maniac)<\/span><\/p>\n

And you\u2019re basically done.<\/span><\/p>\n

PlayStation 2:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This one is AMAZING for hacking.<\/span><\/p>\n

Get a Free McBoot memory card and you\u2019re set.<\/span><\/p>\n

Plug it in, turn on the console, and BOOM \u2014 hacked menu.<\/span><\/p>\n

From there you can: <\/span>Load games from USB o<\/span>r even better, use an internal HDD (fat model only \ud83d\ude41 )<\/span><\/p>\n

PlayStation 3:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

WARNING:<\/span>
\nMess this up and your console might brick, so BE CAREFUL.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now things get serious.<\/span><\/p>\n

You MUST check your model and firmware.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re lucky, you can i<\/span>nstall full Custom Firmware (CFW)<\/span><\/p>\n

If not, u<\/span>se HEN (Homebrew ENabler)<\/span><\/p>\n

Use the browser exploit, follow the steps carefully, and you\u2019re done.<\/span><\/p>\n

PlayStation 4:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the catch.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can ONLY hack it if it\u2019s on the RIGHT firmware.<\/span><\/p>\n

If it is, <\/span>Use a browser exploit or <\/span>Run GoldHEN<\/span><\/p>\n

If it\u2019s a different firmware, <\/span>You\u2019re out of luck.<\/span><\/p>\n

PlayStation 5:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

WARNING!!<\/span><\/p>\n

This console is VERY locked down.<\/span><\/p>\n

Only specific early firmware versions have exploits.<\/span><\/p>\n

No simple method like the older consoles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bricking Risks:<\/span><\/p>\n

Any mistake could PERMENATLY damage your system.<\/span><\/p>\n
