System Of A Down (self-titled)
Release date : June 30 1998
Band : System Of A Down
Keeping in mind the impact that System Of A Down had in the Nu-Metal and Metal scene, it’s really interesting to examine the starting point of a rather not-so-long-lasted discography.
Even though this is the most Nu-Metal rooted album of theirs, its still massively different from what is expected of such a record.
Still, they have not fully figured out their sound yet and the songwriting is not as mature as their later releases
Its full of rancid songs, filled with a rage that SOAD lacked a little bit in newer records. The social/political commentary is presented in an interesting way, and their sound even if not realised is much more powerful than most of their contemporaries.Even though its a weaker release than their other albums, i am pleased by the results.
FInal score 7.5/10
