It began as a\u00a0<a title=\"Dialect\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dialect\">dialect<\/a>\u00a0form of the word\u00a0<i><a title=\"Nigger\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nigger\">nigger<\/a><\/i>, an\u00a0<a title=\"List of ethnic slurs\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/List_of_ethnic_slurs\">ethnic slur<\/a>\u00a0against\u00a0<a title=\"Black people\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Black_people\">black people<\/a>.
