Introduced in 2000, it is the successor to the\u00a0<a title=\"GeForce 256\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/GeForce_256\">GeForce 256<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The GeForce 2 family comprised a number of models. The\u00a0<i>GeForce 2 GTS<\/i>,\u00a0<i>GeForce 2 Ultra<\/i>,\u00a0<i>GeForce 2 Pro<\/i>, and\u00a0<i>GeForce 2 Ti<\/i>\u00a0are based upon the original architecture (NV15), varying only by chip and memory clock speeds. For the low-end segment and OEMs, the\u00a0<i>GeForce 2 MX<\/i>\u00a0series (NV11) was created, from which the\u00a0<i>GeForce 2 Go<\/i>\u00a0was derived for laptops.
