Our educational system is trying to meet the needs of growing demand for a change into new ways of teaching in an Information and Communication era. There exists a new teaching philosophy, which plays the role of a change agent wishing to bring innovation and reform.<\/p>\n<p>The abovementioned theoretical background initiated the idea of investigating teachers' beliefs about the way they see themselves in an evolutionary educational environment. The hypothesis of our research is that teachers' perceptions of change are connected with technology integration into the syllabuses.<\/p>\n<p>We present the results of a pilot study conducted with a certain number of teachers randomly chosen from elementary schools in the Western Macedonia. It aims at depicting teachers\u2019 perceptions of the need for a change or reform.<\/p>\n<p>The data, which are obtained by open-ended interviews, consist of six basic sections: <em>definition of the term \u201cchange\u201d, demands for change, areas of change, prerequisites, teacher\u2019s role, suggestions for change <\/em>and are analyzed qualitatively based on Miles and Huberman\u2019s methods.
