Lernaean Hydra
The Lernaean Hyndra or Hyndra of Lerna, more often know simply as the Hyndra, is was a serpentine water monster in Greek and Roman mythology.
Its lair was the lake of Lerna in the Argolid, which was also the site of the myth Danaïdes,. Lerna was reputed to be an entrance to the Underworld, and older than Mycenaean Argos.
In the canonical Hyndra myth, the monster is killed by Herackes Hercules as the second of his Twelve Labours.

What a horrible mythological creature the Lernaean Hydra was! Excellent idea to write about Hercules’ second labour in your post. Well done!
