1. All of Edward Hopper’s paintings convey an intense feeling of isolation and alienation, as well. The few people depicted seem immersed in a world of depression. Even the buildings look haunted as though they were the remains of a neutron bomb explosion. What I experience by looking at these paintings is a sense of loneliness and fear. Fear for what is yet to come in a world which has lost its orientation…

2. What I feel by looking at these paintings is a slight sense of sadness because the people depicted have got depressed facial expressions. They seem unhappy in the world they live in and are robot-like. They have no reason to live. Their life is pointless.

3. Eng – This which I see in the paintings are people who don’t have a life.They’re empty and acting like robots:no feelings and a depression. Their life has no purpose
   El – Αυτό που βλέπω στους πίνακες είναι άνθρωποι που δεν έχουν ζωή. Είναι άδειοι και συμπεριφέρονται σαν ρομπότ,χωρίς κανένα συναίσθημα και κατάθλιψη.Η ζωή τους δεν έχει κανένα σκοπό.

   Dear Efstathia, thanks for responding to this activity! I hope you found it interesting and that it offered some food for thought! Yes I agree to a point with your point of view, yet I sometimes see some tranquility and calmness in these paintings in the absense of people… I might be wrong, but this is a sense I sometimes get out of watching them! 🙂 thanks again for spending time to reflect up on this activity!
