Coco is a 2017 American 3D fantasy musical. It is based on an original idea by Lee Andrick, directed by Adrian Molina himself. The idea of the film is based on the Mexican celebration of the Day of the Dead. The screenplay was written by Molina and Matthew Aldrich. It launched in the United States on November 22 in 2017 and has grossed about $ 745 million worldwide. The film received praise for its animation, voice acting, music score, songs, emotional story and respect for Mexican culture. Coco premiered on October 20 in 2017, during the Morelia International Film Festival in Morelia, Mexico. Lee Andrick first came up with the idea for the film in 2010. On April 13, 2016, Andric announced that they had started working on animation. The screenwriter of the film Adrian Molina was promoted to second director in 2016. Disney has demanded that the film be trademarked. The story is about 12-year-old Miguel Rivera who is unexpectedly transported to the land of the dead, where he seeks the help of his musical great-great-grandfather to return to his family among the living. Τhe protagonists of the film are Anthony Gonzalez, Gael Garcia Bernal, Benjamin Bratt, Alana Ubah, Rene Victor, Ana Mourgouia Benefit and Edward James Olmos. In my opinion, coco is a great movie and I recommend you to watch it if you haven't seen it.
