Feelings

The main target of this thematic unit is to get in touch with some basic emotions: express them, play with them, draw them, everything in English! The focus vocabulary is: happy, sad, angry, scared, calm, in love introduced through the story of "The Colour Monster".

Throw the dice, say the word and collect a point for your team!

Noughts and Crosses

After we formed teams of 4-5 students, each group took  a set of emotion cards. All they had to do next was listen to five different classical song, think about the feeling it provoked and discuss among the team members. In the end, the leader had to raise the card that represented his/her team. No points, no winners! The goal is to collaborate, interact, observe, agree or disagree!

We also loved singing the song "If you're happy and you know it"!!!

It's Mother's Day in a few days! (...and a chance to continue our discussion on feelings...)

So, the first thing we did was to discuss how valuable mothers are in our life. Some of their ideas included: hugs, kisses, telling them that you love them, taking care of them, cooking for them and a lot more touching thoughts...

Afterwards, we watched the story of Choco. A parrot that has lost its mother, trying to find her everywhere...

Next, we listened to and tried to learn the following song accompanied by some matching moves, so that they can show it to you!

In the end, we counted hearts, wrote the numbers and cut the hearts in half so that we could solve the puzzle!

Day and Night

First we watched the beautiful story "Papa, please get the moon for me". We also sang and dance the following songs: "This is the way" and "This is the way we go to bed". Then we played some (digital) games...
