Erasmus+ Programme Guide 2021
From 2014 to 2020, the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme fostered quality improvements, innovation, excellence and internationalisation of organisations active in education and training, youth and sport.
The successor programme for 2021-2027 was officially launched on 25 March 2021.
The new programme is designed to continue the activities of the current programme as much as possible, such as the mobility activities for staff and learners. The budget of the new programme has increased from €14.7 billion to €26.2 billion.
Key elements and priorities of the new programme
- The current structure will be kept, featuring three main strands: Mobility (Key Action 1), Cooperation (Key Action 2), and Policy (Key Action 3).
- Key Action 1 will now include mobility both for staff and learners in the field of school education.
- The strategic priorities for the whole programme to follow are inclusion and diversity, environmental sustainability and digital education. This happens through activities e.g. by using the specific funding opportunities for these purposes, by raising the awareness of their participants, by sharing best practices, and by choosing appropriate design for the activities.
