Ως αφετηρία του έργου, οι μαθητές κατέγραψαν στον παραπάνω πίνακα την πρώτη λέξη ή φράση που τους ήρθε στο μυαλό όταν άκουσαν τη λέξη «ΚΑΠΝΟΣ», αποτυπώνοντας αυθόρμητα τις αρχικές τους σκέψεις και αντιλήψεις.
